Week 8: Giving

Today’s Easy Task: Allocate at least 10% of income for giving.

How to complete this task:

  • Complete today’s task reading
  • Pray today’s prayer
  • Read today’s scriptures
  • Give at least 10% of income to a ministry you are actively apart of to support it

Today’s Task Reading:

Giving is a realistic way to say you are not attached to your money.  It’s a way to break your attachment and show God that you choose Him over money.  There are many ways to give.  You can give to charities (Deuteronomy 15:11).  You can give tithes (Deuteronomy 12:19) and if you read Matthew 23:23 and Luke 11:42 you would see that Jesus endorsed giving tithes.

The great thing about giving is that it enhances the lives of other. There will always be a time to sow and time to receive. So try to budget 1/3rd of your income specifically for giving.  Yes, you will be tested in your giving, but just obey God and give him your first fruit.  God will make sure you will not lack and it will come back to you in good measure (Luke 6:38).

Today’s Prayer:  God, I love You. I adore You.  You reign forever and ever.  You are awesome.  You are the giver of life and prosperity.  We want to be givers too.  Help us to break our attachment with money and show You father that we choose You over money.  Help us to give to charities, give tithes, and give to build up Your Kingdom.  Help us to enhance the lives of others.  Help us to sow and try to budget 1/3rd of our income specifically for giving.  Help us to past ever test concerning giving.  Help us to obey God and give him our first fruit.  For God You promised if we did give with a cheerful hear, we would not lack and it will come back to us in good measure.  Forgive us for our sins and help us to forgive those who have sinned against us.  Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For Yours is the Kingdom, power and glory forever.  In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
