Week 3: Building Faith
Today’s Easy Task: Identify the thoughts that fill you mind and compare them to Scriptures
How to complete this task:
- Complete today’s task reading
- Pray today’s prayer
- Read today’s scriptures
- List the negative thoughts we’ve been telling ourselves on a regular basis
- Compare those negative thoughts to Scriptures
- Replace those lies with God’s Word
Today’s Task Reading:
This week we will focus on building faith! We will start on an important topic of how we handle the thoughts that go through our heads. Every though that is in our head, doesn’t always come from ourselves, but Satan can put thoughts in our head to distract us and rob us from fulfilling God’s purpose in our lives.
That is why it is important that we are very careful on how we think, because our thinking can positively or negatively affect our lives. If a thought pops in our head doesn’t mean it is true and we have to believe it. To validate if the thought is true, we need to compare it to scriptures. If God’s Word says that thought is true- then it is true. If God’s Word says that thought is a lie, then it is a lie.
So whatever negative thought we are dealing with we need to find a scripture that relates to it and replace it with God’s truth. Then we need to meditate on those scriptures, day and night, because they will produce life in us (John 6:63). That’s why it’s important that we choose to think on good things (Philippians 4:8). Our thoughts should be like the scriptures. Scriptures reveal the truth. So any chance we get we should think scriptures, speak scriptures, and act out scriptures (Joshua 1:8-9).
Today’s Prayer: God, You are Jehovah El ‘emunah – the God of truth. You are forever faithful. You are blessing in the heavens and on earth. Let the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable to You God our Lord and savior. Help us replace our negative thoughts with the Word of God. For the Word of God is powerful, relevant today, yesterday and forever. Forgive us when we dwell on the lies of negative thoughts. Help us to forgive those who have said negative thoughts and actions towards us. Protect us from all dangers seen and unseen. Let Your light shine throughout this world. In Jesus name, Amen
