Today’s Task Reading

This week we will be focused on using the Bible for guidance.

We as human were created with a spirit, soul and body (1 Thessalonians 5:23).

  • Our spirit is what we are.
  • The soul is who we are – our mind, will and emotions.
  • The body receives through our senses – hearing, tasting, seeing, touching, and feelings.
  • The mind is the center of our soul.

The soul is mediator between the spirit and the body.  So, whatever the soul receives from the senses, it will deposit into the spirit.  It’s important that we regulate what our soul receives because it will be deposited into our spirit.  Let us be careful of what we listen to because it will mess up our whole life (Galatians 5:9).  Let’s make sure the soul isn’t influenced by lustful things picked up through body senses.  Instead, let’s us make sure the soul is influence by scriptures.  Scriptures daily renews our mind, will, emotions.  This renewal takes place because we are feeding our mind things related God.  Every time we read, pray, study the bible, watch Godly things, participate in Godly activities we are flushing out toxic habits that lead to addiction and temptation (Colossian 3:2, Romans 12:2).  Ask God to always fill us with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).  For it is a gift from God above (Acts 2:38).  The sweet communion of the Holy Spirit gives us self-control aka strength and power (Acts 1:8).   The Holy Spirit gives us a spirit of excellence and extraordinary success.

Today’s Prayer:  God, we thank you for giving us self-control through the partnership of The Holy Spirit.  This partnership gives us the opportunity to learn and grow in power and strength.  Although life has given us some strong temptations, thank you for giving us strategies in Your Word that gives us the power to resist.   Please help us to take heed and follow those strategies so we can have the spirit of excellence and success in our lives.   In Jesus name, Amen
