Week 1: Commit to God’s Instruction

Today’s Easy Task: Replace our addictions with S.M.A.R.T habits

How to complete this task:

  • Complete today’s task reading

  • Examine the difference between addictions and habits
  • Make a list of addictions
  • Replace list of addictions with S.M.A.R.T Habits

Our attitude determines the difference between habits and addiction.  If we find out something we enjoy doing on a regular basis is not good for us and we stop doing it, it was a habit.  However, if we continue to do it and make excuses, it is an addiction. 

It’s important that we replace addictions with good habits (Ephesians 4:22-24).  The good habit we replace the addictions with should be a S.M.A.R.T goal – Specific, Measureable, Achievable, Relevant and Time Bound. 

After praying for wisdom, knowledge and strength, we need to make time to create a Faith & Fit 90 journal.  Our journal should be broken into two sections.  The first section will be our vision on money and health.  The second section will be our gratitude journal. 

In the vision journal section, we will write our S.M.A.R.T goals with visuals and messages on how we want to feel about our money and health.    We must be specific as possible and focus on solutions- not problems. 

In your gratitude journal section, we will list 10 things we are thankful for everyday whether we are happy with them or not.  Every day we will include our daily updates of what wisdom, knowledge and strength God has given us in areas of money & health.

Today’s Prayer:  God, Thank You for giving us the mind to replace our addictions with S.M.A.R.T habits.  Thank you for giving us the ability to learn S.M.A.R.T habits.  Help us to be wise with the days You have given us and give us the self-control we need to do our best in all areas in our lives.  In Jesus name, Amen.
