Week 1: Commit to God’s Instruction

Today’s Easy Task: We will list the things that can help us keep our promises

How to complete this task:

  • Read today’s summary
  • Pray today’s prayer
  • Read today’s scriptures
  • Make the time and skills necessary to follow through on promises, such as the two things we have commit to doing in the next 90 days
  • Put it on the calendar, mark it on the to do list and set daily reminders on the phone
  • Ask for outside support to stay motivated
  • Create a plan, Follow it and stick to timeline
  • Apologize and find solutions if promise is broken

Today as we commit to God’s instruction.  We are going deeper.  We are looking beyond diet and exercise for good health and we are looking beyond saving, spending and getting out of debt for good wealth.  Although those things are important, we are looking at an important characteristic that could help us reach great health and wealth and that characteristic is…keeping promises.  When I think of a promise keeper, I think about the best example- God.  The Bible says God is a promise keeper.  It says God never fails (Joshua 21:45). God keeps His word and never lies (Numbers 23:19). God sees our needs; God hears our cries; God delivers on His Word (Psalm 91:15). God never sleeps (Isaiah 40:38).  God is always faithful (2 Timothy 2:13).  So, if we are considering being a promise keeper, we must consider the following three things:

  1. Are we breaking promises? Let’s go to The Bible and use it as a guide to receive total health.  The Bible says, we must pay close attention to what we say (Matthew 12:37), we must take careful consideration before making a promise (Luke 14:28), we must keep it simple when communicating (Matthew 5:37) and we must ask God to help us keep the promises we make.
  2. Are we keeping promises?  It’s important for us to keep our side of the deal so we can receive God promises of blessings, health and joy.
  3. Do we trust God to receive His blessings?  We need to have faith in God and believe so we can receive all His blessings.

Prayer:  God, Thank You for being a promise keeper.  Thank You for fulfilling Your promise of sending Jesus Christ to save us from our sins.  Help us to be promise keepers as well.  Help us to pay attention to what we say, take careful consideration before making promises; help us to keep our communication simple and keep the promises we make.  We want to be trustworthy, faithful and receive all our blessings.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
